The creation of my work is based on the process of interaction with manufactured objects. Taking into consideration its utilitarian purpose and how it is regarded within society. What is its function, how is it used, how do people interact with this object, these being questions that I ask while examining the object. Manufactured objects are carriers of important information, ideas and emotions that we all relate to based on our interactions with them. The second step involved it based on my personal interaction with the object, I tend to move towards the aspect of the object that I am most attracted to whether it is color, form, function or movement. The choice of this aspect is often combined with a reflection of how I see the world through my life experiences, surroundings, emotions, this usually being done subconsciously, depending on my level of awareness. Although most of these objects were created with a utilitarian purpose, we interact with them based on our past experiences of interactions. The manner in which I interact with the material is what determines the next step of amplifying the characteristic through the use of repetition. Amplifying the chosen the characteristic is created through repetition to determine its composition and overall concept/idea. This near obsessive repetitive motion tends to take my mind off of all realities bringing me into a meditative state of being where the creativity flows through me. This to me is true creativity where there are no questions asked, nothing altered for the acceptance of society. My works are reflective of how I see the world through my life experiences, surroundings, thoughts and feeling.
Objects, being my clues are similar to puzzle pieces that are placed together to create an image, concept or idea. When confronted with these objects in unfamiliar ways we start to question the very nature of the object and its meaning or importance to ones self. The object is now transformed and interpreted into a new form, giving it a whole new meaning.
